The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is a departure from the traditional LEGO game formula. In 2017, TT Games developed LEGO Worlds, which was more of a sandbox, Minecraft-type game. For The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, they've taken some aspects of that game and mixed them with the familiar LEGO gameplay. The end result is a mish mash of traditional gameplay and creation/exploration.

Also, unlike other LEGO games, to 100% this game, all that needs to be done is to collect all 475 master pieces. While that does entail getting 100% in all levels, you do not have to collect all characters, items, vehicles, red relics or anything else.

Note: Characters unlocked from other properties (for instance, the DC Comics Universe), do not have special abilities (no flying, speedsters, etc.). Each character in the game is basically the same but with different skins. Your abilities are determined by the items acquired while playing through the story.

Cheat Codes:

Cheat codes in this game are slightly different than in previous LEGO games. Codes don't unlock specific characters or items, they unlock relics, which, when opened, award you with random items depending on the color of the relic. Press :1menu: then select and choose the "Enter Code" selection. Enter one of the following codes to activate the cheat. Cheats don't disable achievements. Refer to THIS post.

Relics:

Relics are found in discovery chests and randomly by defeating enemies. Some can also be bought in any shop. There are five different types, each containing different items. You will pick up hundreds of these throughout your playthrough. Refer to " You can Relics now " for more information.

Relics can only be opened at shops. If you have a gold Mega-Relic in your possession as well as other colors, it is best to open the other colors first. The reason for this is because you are more likely to obtain duplicate items in these, especially if you are close to completing the game. When you receive a duplicate item, it is converted into a gold shard, and five of these shards create one gold Mega-Relic (which contains one item from each of the green, blue and purple relics). Mega-Relics are guaranteed, again, unless you are close to completing the game, to not contain any duplicates, so you have a better chance at obtaining items (characters, vehicles, builds, etc.) you need/want from opening Mega-Relics than by opening the other color ones. As you play through the game this will become more apparent.

Step 1: Story

Each story level in the game is very straightforward to complete. Waypoints are given for each objective so all you really need to do is follow the stars. Along the way you will collect and earn master pieces, and once all the tasks have been satisfied for that level, if you have the appropriate number of master pieces, you can deposit them into the portal and exit.

If you wish, as you are completing each story level, you can collect more master pieces than what is necessary to exit the level. Nevertheless, you will probably not be able to collect some of them because of abilities needed that are acquired in later story levels. However you decide to do it, you're still going to have to return to each planet after you complete the story.

After completing the story, you should unlock " End Of Part Two ".

Step 2: Side Planets

There are two achievements to unlock for each of the five side planets; complete them and collect all master pieces. To earn each completion achievement, you just need to complete the simple Introductory quest which is usually just a short fetch quest. Then you need to collect all 25 master pieces on each side planet. More information about that is in the next step.

Step 3: Collecting Master Pieces

Once you've unlocked all the level completion achievements, now is the time to go back and collect all of the master pieces in them. Equipping the Jet Wings that you automatically earned in the final story level will make this much easier, but if you've acquired the Super Jetpack from a red Super Item relic, then it will be even easier since you have unlimited flight time.

Master pieces are obtained in many different ways; solving a puzzle, completing a race or fetch quest or finding them in the environment. Each of the six planets has 50 master pieces and the five side planets have 25 each. Collecting them all will give you 425 master pieces. Then all that remains are 10 master pieces in Goldtropolis and 40 master pieces in Syspocalypstar.

Remember, on each planet there is a shop where a master piece can be purchased for 50,000 studs. Don't forget about them!

Step 4: Goldtropolis

To access Goldtropolis, which is located in the Rex-Plorer System, you first need to acquire 400 master pieces, so you can do this while you are working on Step 3 or after. On this world, there are 10 master pieces to collect. Walking around are characters that you have unlocked in previous levels, and while you can talk to them, they offer no quests so aren't necessary for completing this world. While there is no achievement related to completing Goldtropolis, it is required for " Intergalactic Planetary Scavenger ".

Step 5: Syspocalypstar

It is suggested that you save this step for last since you acquire builds and super builds by completing tasks on the other planets. This area contains 40 master pieces; 20 for constructing super builds then completing objectives, 15 for constructing regular builds for characters wandering around the area, 3 for completing the Introductory quest, 1 hidden in the area and 1 to purchase at the shop. Refer to " City Planner " for more information.

Step 6: Mop Up & 100%

If you've completed the previous steps, you should have unlocked the 100% achievement. Miscellaneous achievements are not a part of the 100% so if you happen to not have unlocked an achievement here or there, now is the time to do it.

DLC Worlds:

If you downloaded the free 'Galactic Adventures Character & Level Pack', it offers an additional 75 master pieces to the game, 25 for each of the three new worlds. Collecting these is not a requirement of the 100% achievement " Intergalactic Planetary Scavenger ".

Conclusion:

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame offers an enjoyable achievement list that encourages full world exploration at your own leisure. You should have everything unlocked as well as your 1000:1gs:.
